The Adoptee Cookbook Project

Welcome to The Adoptee Cookbook Project Homepage

This site aims to illustrate how Transracial Asian Adoptees live a unique story as we navigate the complexities and nuances of our identity. The project centers around two main questions: What makes the transracial Asian adoptee community diverse? How does our diversity inform our intersections and interactions with other marginalized identities?

By sharing the stories of adoptees through their writing, art, and oral histories, I hope to grow an understanding of adoptee experiences and build a community that explores what it means to exist at cultural crossroads and with in-between identities.

While the project has a focus on transracial Asian adoptees and the Bryn Mawr community due to that being my experience and primary adoptee community, interest and participation from a variety of international adoptee identities and communities outside of Bryn Mawr are welcome and encouraged. Please visit the About page for more information!

*If you use any website resources such as the template, the syllabus, or the exercise for submission to another publication, please first submit it to The Adoptee Cookbook Project. If your piece is then published elsewhere, you must give credit to The Adoptee Cookbook Project.
