Although I am a Chinese adoptee and this soup recipe is Thai, it holds a special place in my heart as one of the foundational recipes and pieces of culture that I had in my childhood and throughout adulthood. To be an adoptee to me means forging my own path and creating myself despite traumatic circumstances that happened when I was a baby."
